One Watt Sun started in the long months of Winter, early 2009. Combining old and new songs recorded sometimes alone but frequently together, often in the early hours of dawn after a long night of "Self-inflicted mental adventures," as Guy has phrased it. The first album by the band, "Death Folk" (a term used by the band to describe their music), is a mostly acoustic collage of bittersweet tunes that sound curiously haunted by some strange ghost from the past.

Since taking a year and a half hiatus from the band, the members have returned with an all new outlook and approach. On both of the band's two new Ep's, Guy's vocals are back and forth between a deranged yell and a sometimes melodic sing/chant slightly reminiscent of 1980's DC hardcore and punk. At this young stage in their career, this duo already sounds more mature than some bands do after many years of playing and writing together. Ripe with creatively ambitious ideas and a determined curiosity for off-center styles of playing, One Watt Sun writes songs that will stick with you for a long time to come.

Fuck Knowing

One Watt Sun: Fuck Knowing from Mount Weather.

The first video from underground band One Watt Sun featuring Chad Siwinski (bass – Like Patterns, bass – Dream Gallows, drums/bass/guitar – One Watt Sun) and Sean “Guy” Wallis (guitar/vocals/accordion – One Watt Sun, guitar/vocals/bass – Mount Weather, guitar/vocals – Dream Gallows). Calling their music “Death Folk”, this duo embarks on a lo-fi journey of experimental proportions to create a sound landscape that is no less than a dreamy, melodious and eerie form of acoustic soul music for the chemically influenced and inclined.
